Mount Allison University Leadership Day
Current student leaders, the MASU and Student Affairs are teaming up to create the first ever leadership development conference on January 19th from 9:30-4PM in Tweedie Hall. This event is geared at first and second year students interested in leadership positions within residence, clubs and societies, the MASU, sports teams and academia. The day will be divided into small sessions covering topics such as public speaking and interview skills, equity, diversity and inclusion, substance harm reduction and mental health, and some skills specific to leadership positions such as president, secretary, communications, coach, fundraising/events, TA, and academic mentor. The majority of the sessions will be student run and geared directly toward Mount Allison specific positions. Additionally, Dr. Sandy MacIver will lead a session exploring personality characteristics in the context of leadership, and the Office of Experiential Learning and Career Development will walk participations through a reflective exercise.
