Aiming to provide students and the community with an affordable, sustainable, and healthy transportation option, the Sackville Bike Co-op is a unique bike-sharing program operated by the MASU and generously supported by Renaissance Sackville. This exciting new co-op provides a fleet of bikes for short-term rental allowing union members and community members alike access to green transportation during safe cycling months.
Looking to engage the entire community with its mission to reduce our carbon footprint, the Bike Co-op referendum of 2012 and grants provided by Renaissance Sackville has afforded all students paying MASU fees and all members of the Sackville community automatic membership.
How to borrow a bike:
To borrow a bicycle for up to three days, simply drop by the MASU office (located on the first floor of the Wallace McCain Student Centre: 62 York St.) between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm and ask to borrow a bike! After signing a waiver and paying a twenty dollar damage deposit, you will receive a key to the bike co-op shed (located behind the Wallace McCain Student Centre towards Landsdowne St.) and take your bike of choice, along with a helmet and bike lock. Once you return your bike, you will have your deposit returned, so long as the bike is undamaged.
