The MASU is pleased to provide an extended health and dental plan to all Mount Allison students. We also provide accident and emergency coverage for international students, dual citizens and Canadian citizens who are not residents of Canada.

Activating your PLAN
Registering for your benefits allows you to print off your own benefit cards, submit receipts for reimbursement and check your benefit balances.

January Medical Opt-Out
Click below to access the instructions for opting-out of your MASU International Medical Insurance with proof of your NB Medicare/Provincial Medical Insurance. The insurance opt-out period is open December 21, 2024 to January 31, 2025.

EXTENDED HEALTH & DENTAL plan
To opt out of the extended health and/or dental plans, please visit studentbenefits.ca and select the MASU logo, choose “domestic” and select “Opt Out”.
You will need your MASU ID to opt out. You can find this on Self Service under “User Options”.
Students with comparable coverage may opt out of the extended health and dental plan. Students do not need comparable coverage to opt out of the dental plan. Students may choose to opt out of the health plan, the dental plan, or both plans.
Examples of sufficient proof of coverage are either an image of your extended health benefit card, a screenshot or a letter from your extended health insurance provider confirming your coverage as a plan member, or as a dependent on the plan.
International medical plan
To opt out of MASU’s International Medical Plan please visit studentbenefits.ca and select the MASU logo. Choose “international” when prompted and select Opt Out.
You will need your MASU ID to opt-out. You can find this on Self Service under “User Options”.
You will then need to complete the online opt-out form and upload proof of alternate medical insurance (such as NB Medicare).
Examples of sufficient proof of coverage are either an image of your NB Medicare card (scanned or taken with a camera or smartphone) or a letter from NB Medicare verifying your coverage.
The opt-out deadline is September 30th each year.

Student wellness is an external resource that provides students with free, confidential access to a professional counsellor anytime, anywhere, via phone or the internet.
